Code of Conduct
Vaekst's Code of Conduct is designed to uphold the highest ethical standards and ensure integrity in all business practices. By establishing clear guidelines, we foster a culture of trust and accountability among employees and partners, promoting sustainable and responsible growth in the green energy sector.
1. Purpose
At Vaekst, we expect our employees and partners—suppliers, consultants, and collaborators—to uphold the highest ethical standards in both business and personal conduct while working with us.
2. Scope and Responsibilities
This Code of Conduct applies to all of Vaekst Consulting Boutique and its local units, as well as our partners. The Board of Directors has approved this Code, with the founding partners responsible for compliance and leaders tasked with ensuring that all employees and partners understand its principles.
3. Compliance
Vaekst and its partners must adhere to local and international laws, relevant industry standards, and codes of conduct. We are dedicated to supporting the UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goals 7 (Affordable Energy) and 13 (Climate Action). This Code establishes the minimum standards for acceptable behavior, and violations will not be tolerated. In cases where local laws are stricter, those regulations take precedence.
4. Business Ethics
We expect all employees and partners to conduct business ethically, prioritizing integrity even in permissive legal environments. Vaekst complies with fair trade laws, anti-bribery regulations, and relevant ethical codes in all operational territories.
5. Anti-Bribery and Corruption
Vaekst is committed to fair business practices, free from bribery or corruption. All partners must conduct business transparently and legally.
5.1 Bribery
Bribery involves offering any undue advantage to influence someone's actions regarding official duties. Any employee found accepting such advantages will face immediate termination and potential legal action.
5.2 Facilitation Payments
Facilitation payments, intended to expedite routine actions, are discouraged. Employees must avoid these payments and comply with legal standards.
5.3 Gifts
Gifts may only be exchanged if they are of nominal value (under $100) and appropriate for the occasion. Cash gifts are strictly prohibited.
5.4 Entertainment
Business entertainment is acceptable when reasonable and related to genuine business discussions. Any entertainment exceeding $250 per person must be reported in advance.
6. Health and Safety
Health and safety are priorities at Vaekst. All partners must adhere to safety regulations, ensuring a secure work environment. Any incidents must be reported for analysis and improvement.
7. Environmental Responsibility
Vaekst is committed to environmental protection and sustainable practices, adhering to all relevant laws and promoting eco-friendly technologies and recycling initiatives.
8. Human Rights
We uphold international human rights standards and local labor laws, ensuring that everyone working with Vaekst enjoys their fundamental rights. We aim to positively impact human rights, particularly in education and youth empowerment.
9. Employment Practices
Vaekst maintains a zero-tolerance policy for forced labor, child labor, discrimination, and human trafficking.
9.1 Diversity
We are an equal opportunity employer, ensuring fair treatment for all. Leadership is responsible for addressing discrimination and fostering a respectful work environment.
9.2 Harassment
All forms of harassment are strictly prohibited. Violations will result in disciplinary actions, including termination.
9.3 Work Environment
We prioritize a safe working environment that meets all legal and industry standards, focusing on risk assessment and health.
10. Reporting Non-Compliance
Employees and partners must report any unethical or illegal behavior to their leaders or designated contacts, ensuring confidentiality and protection against retaliation.
11. Consequences of Non-Compliance
Violations of this Code may lead to disciplinary actions, including termination. Serious or repeated breaches may result in the termination of partnerships or business relationships with Vaekst.
